The Times They Are A-Changin': A Men's Writing Retreat Inspired by the Works of Bob Dylan

You’re invited to join us for our annual writing retreat this coming January 19-21, 2024 at the Bergamo Center for Lifelong Learning.

At this year's in-person writing retreat our spirit guide will be the reluctant prophet named Bob Dylan. The retreat is broken up into six writing experiences. Each experience will begin with some inspiration from Bob Dylan's work that leads to a writing prompt. After the writing period, all participants will take part in small council groups. An invitation to men to re-examine the space in their lives where real friendship could be: An experiential retreat that provides an opportunity to continue to grow as we explore friendship with Oneself, Spouse/Partner/Intimate Friends, Peers and others, and intimacy with God.

Apprentice yourself to nature through a variety of times of quiet contemplation as you reflect on the nature before you and around you.

This retreat weekend includes a variety of offerings: quiet meditation, group prayer, shared group experiences, creative expression, small group sharing and silent solo wandering.

Join together with other men also on a spiritual journey for an interfaith retreat revolving around the four male archetypes: King, Warrior, Magician, and Lover. The concept of archetypes (male and female) has been around for millennia, and most cultures have woven this concept into their traditions, rituals, literature, art and mythology.

Join the men of Illuman of Louisiana for a weekend retreat with Fr. Jim Clark. This gathering will take place within the forested setting of the Feliciana Retreat Center located in the rolling hills of Eastern Louisiana.

Over the course of the weekend retreat, Fr. Clark will lead us into discussions and rituals that will help to focus our attention on the five embittering wounds men face in their lives. He will also help us to understand and experience the healing love of God through transforming our wounds in to Sacred Wounds. It is our hope that we will all depart Feliciana knowing how God can use us to more effectively bring healing and blessings into our own lives and the lives of others.
